The quality of our supplier network and the trust between us, the suppliers, and the clients is the product of processes that we have built and improved over time. In this post, we explore a bit some of those processes so new clients and suppliers can understand better how we operate in order to protect everyone's bottom line and earn trust in this very complex industry.

To be a successful trading company, it is mission critical to build a reliable and trusted supplier network. At SEAND Trading, the inbound requests and the trust from worldwide clients is the proof that our processes are effective and we would like to share with you. The following list of processes is also the proof that working with a third-party agency like ours to investigate is always beneficial especially when the trade involves big money and you want some reliability and the best options on the market.
"Almost all quality improvement comes via simplification of design, ... , processes, and procedures." Tom Peters
Research
We always speak with seasoned and professional traders dealing with the same or similar products to get a good idea of the product landscape. For new products, we also visit and study our buyers' market for strategic decision making and better understanding of the market needs. The ultimate goal of the research phase is to know what suppliers to partner with in order to satisfy the market needs therefore we also invest a huge amount of time in visiting and talking with numerous suppliers before making our partnering decisions.
Documentation
To better serve our clients, we have to build a solid set of documentations about the products that we trade: from legal registrations of our suppliers to certifications of their products. Therefore, we make sure that all legal documents are on point and ready to be provided to legal entities and clients when needed. The legal documentation of the partnerships with the suppliers is also an important aspect to prove our reliability to clients and secure long-term deals.
Team
In every country where we have suppliers, it is also important to invest in a team of partners to handle logistics, legal paperwork, communication, custom clearances, etc. Even though, these teams might not be needed all the time, they significantly help with the smooth execution of trade contracts.
Verify and Protect
Due to the high number of con artists in international trading, it is critical to verify every partners credentials before making any trading agreement. With our suppliers, we always pay them many visits and verify all the legals, production capacity, and financials statements in a throughout due-diligence process. With clients, we follow their digital trails and arrange in person visits or many videos calls. We also ask for a small refundable deposit to ensure the good faith of the clients before entering any trade agreement. But, the ultimate way of ensuring that a client entering a trade agreement with us will honour his part when we deliver ours is by requesting bank guarantees (e.g. 30% down payment, letter of credit, etc)
Remember one can never be too careful and it will surely help you make informed decisions when striking deals in foreign lands. Selecting a safe, secure mode of payment and viable shipping terms are just as important as finding a genuine buyer.
The above steps will also give us an opportunity to forge lasting business relationships. In the end, all our partners and clients understand that these small things matter. Therefore, every decision based on these steps not only mitigates possible losses but also paves the way to great success for all parties involved.
